Local transport disadvantage is an issue for Auburn City's labour force and job seekers. Local workers and job seekers need practical support to increase their opportunities to enter and remain in the workforce as well as being able to access 'out of hours' transport.
The WORK WAY project was developed as an innovative solution to transport issues for local residents and those travelling to employment lands. The project is developing in consultation with a range of local employers, Job Service Agencies, relevant Government agencies and local businesses.
The WORK WAY project will seek to address a range of transport needs across the Auburn City Local Government area, specifically as they relate to employment lands, access to 'out of hours' transport and access to transport for job seekers.
Importantly, the WORK WAY project will address sustainable transport needs with workers and job seekers being able to access public rather than private transport.
Council is currently seeking project partners and supporters for the WORK WAY transport initiative.
