Local studies

 

This research collection includes information on the history of Auburn, family history resources, photographs of the local area and Auburn City Council information. This collection is housed at the Auburn Library  and is available for use in the library only.

The collection is ‘reference-only’, which means items cannot be borrowed. It includes:

  • Back copies of the local newspaper - Auburn Review
  • Auburn City Council documents such as minutes of Council meetings, strategic plans and policies
  • Photographs of the local area
  • Family history resources such as local street directories and cemetery records
  • Publications about the local area such as histories of local schools and churches
  • A vertical file collection that includes information about various aspects of the Auburn area, such as landmarks and prominent people in the community

Our staff at the Auburn Library Reference desk can provide assistance with using the collection. However, staff cannot undertake lengthy or ongoing personal research or family history research on your behalf.
