Auburn Town Centre Strategy 2031

The Auburn Town Centre Strategy 2031 provides the planning context for future development in the town centre. It establishes a vision and directions to address a range of planning, community, transport, economic and environmental issues.

 
These directions will help guide short, medium and long term strategic planning.
 
The goals of the Auburn Town Centre Strategy 2031 are:
  • to establish a vision that sets out the desired future character for Auburn Town Centre, developed in partnership with residents, land owners, local businesses, and other stakeholders;
  • to prepare a strategy to achieve that vision, based on principles of sustainability, conservation, revitalisation and redevelopment;
  • to align with State, regional and sub-regional planning strategies; and
  • to form part of a suite of planning controls, policies and guidelines that will support the sustainable development of the Auburn Town Centre in keeping with the vision.
 
Copies of the Strategy can also be viewed at Council’s Customer Service Centre at Civic Place, 1 Susan Street Auburn and at Council’s libraries.

Auburn Local Environment Plan 2010 and Auburn Development Control Plan 2010

The primary development controls applying to the Auburn Town Centre (including land use zoning, maximum building height and maximum floor space ratio) are contained in the Auburn Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2010.   
 
Detailed development controls specific to the Auburn Town Centre are contained in the Local Centres part of the Auburn Development Control Plan 2010.

The overall direction for the design and implementation of the streetscape and public domain improvement works for the Auburn Town Centre Public Domain Plan.
