Auburn City Council works collaboratively with other NSW Councils on issues that require a regional response and a proactive approach.
Auburn City Council is currently a member of the following partnership groups:
The Parramatta River Catchment Group
The Parramatta River Catchment Group is a regional organisation of local councils, state agencies and community representatives. The aim of the group is to work together to improve the health of the Parramatta River Catchment.

The Local Government Emissions Trading Scheme Group is made up of 12 NSW councils. The Scheme, beginning in March 2008, is a five-year trial intended to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of participating councils by 4% each year. It is the first of its kind for local government in Australia.
The scheme allows local Councils to trade their emission reductions among themselves to help ensure set reduction targets are met.
