The sustainability strategy 'Our Auburn - Vibrant Thriving Sustainable' details our long term goals for sustainable development and identifies the actions that should be taken to achieve these goals. 
  
 
 

State of the Environment Report 2011

Each year, Auburn City Council releases The State of the Environment (SoE) Report to document the progress Council has made on environment and sustainability issues. 
 
The SoE process allows Auburn City Council to effectively measure, monitor and evaluate our environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.

Water Saving Action Plan 2006-2010

 Water Saving Action Plan
 
Auburn City Council's Water Savings Action Plan 2006 - 2010 aims to improve Council's water conservation and management.
 
The plan focuses on the ten Council properties with the highest water consumption including the Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre, the Auburn City Council Depot, the Botanic Gardens and several parks.
 
 
 

Energy Savings Action Plan 2006-2010

The Energy Savings Action Plan 2006 - 2010 was developed by Auburn City Council to meet the requirements of the Energy Administration Amendment Act 2005.
 
The plan reviews Auburn City Council's energy conservation and management and identifies key areas of improvement.
 
 
 

Local Greenhouse Action Plan



 
In 2006, Auburn City Council joined the Cities for Climate Protection program, a local greenhouse action initiative administered in Australia by Local Governments for Sustainability.
 
As a result of participation in the program, Council developed the Local Greenhouse Action Plan, which aims to reduce corporate and community greenhouse gas emissions in the Auburn area.
 

 

Various Plans of Management

The Local Government Act (1993) requires all Councils to prepare plans of management for land classified as community land. The plan should identify permitted uses for the land, as well as management strategies and performance objectives.
 
Auburn City Council has several plans of management relating to the parks and open spaces in the Auburn area.
