GARBAGE COLLECTION SERVICE

Learn more about correct waste disposal by playing the Waste Game

Auburn City Council offers a weekly garbage (waste to landfill) collection service for all properties.

Residents can choose from: 

  • 120L garbage bin or a 240L garbage bin (selected rate options)
  • 240L garbage bin (2 residential units per bin)
  • 660L garbage bin (5 residential units per bin)     

Red Lids

Please note that if your black bin lid has not yet been replaced with a red one, this will be done in due course.  

What goes in my bin?

YES:  foam products, food waste, nappy, plastic bag, broken glass
NO:   recyclable products, building waste, medical waste, garden vegetation, hazardous materials

What can you do to further reduce waste going to landfill?  

  • Buy recyclable products when you go shopping
  • Recycle clothes and household objects by bringing them to your local charity shop
  • Save money and buy second-hand
  • Don't buy heavily packaged goods
  • Use refillable containers where possible
  • Use your own shopping bags or re-use plastic shopping bags
  • Get a composter or a worm farm to recycle all those vegetable scraps and save money on fertiliser at the same time
