ILLEGAL DUMPING

Illegal dumping spoils your neighbourhood

Illegal dumping costs the Auburn community more than $110,000 every year.

Dumped waste may consist of dangerous items such as syringes, asbestos and toxic waste. As well as spoiling the neighbourhood, it attracts rats, cockroaches and disease carrying pests.

Each week 10 tonnes of illegally dumped waste is collected in the Auburn Local Government Area.

Dumping is a serious criminal offence which carries a fine of up to $750 for individuals and $1,500 for businesses.
