​AN AWARD WINNING COUNCIL

Auburn City Council has received a number of awards for excellence in service delivery and for some of its programs, including innovation and planning, community engagement and environmental initiatives.

2012

  • LGMA Award Highly Commended for Excellence in Collaboration for the Duck River Community Education program.

2011

  • ZEST Award Highly Commended for an Exceptional Project within a Government Organisation for the Peacock Gallery and Auburn Arts Studio

2010

  • RH Dougherty Award (LGSA) for Julie Milsom, Auburn City Council's Community Event Manager in the Outstanding lndividual Contribution category .
  • RH Dougherty Award (LGSA) for the Cleaner streets for a better neighbourhood campaign. Highly
    commended in the Excellence in Communication category .
  • Local Government Cultural Award in the Cultural lnfrastructure category (LGSA) for The Peacock Gallery and the Auburn Arts Studio

2009

  • LGMA Management Excellence Award for Organisational lmprovement, through implementation of 6
    working parties, in the Leadership and Management Excellence category
  • LGMA Management Excellence Awards Highly Commended for the Community Pride Program in the
    Engag¡ng and Serving Communities category 

2008

  • AR Bluett Memorial Award for excellence in local government. The AR Bluett Award recognises Councils that have achieved the greatest relative progress in NSW. 
  • Local Government Cultural Pìanning Award for lntegrated Cultural Policy lmplementâtion for lhe Auburn Cultural Plan 2007 -2017 .
  • Cee Cees Star Award for Besl Teacher at the Community Chlld Care Coop, awarded to Eny Barbosa
  • Local Government Cultural Planning Award for Programs, Projects and Partnerships for the Festival of Lifelong Learning 

2007

  • National Merit Award in Community Based Plann¡ng from the Planning lnstitute of Australia for the Auburn Strategic Social Plan 2005 - 2010 .
