WestConnex was a key recommendation of the State Infrastructure Strategy released in October 2012. Westconnex is one of NSW Government’s key transport infrastructure projects which will span 33 kilometres and be completed in 3 stages:
- Stage 1 - M4 (Parramatta to Haberfield)
- Stage 2 - New M5 (Beverly Hills to St Peters)
- Stage 3 – M4 – M5 Link
WestConnex brings together a number of road projects which will form a link in Sydney’s Orbital Network. They include a widening of the M4 east of Parramatta, a duplication of the M5 East and new sections of motorway to provide a connection between the two key corridors.
Westbound off-ramp and tree clearing at Hill Road
In Auburn, the WestConnex project includes the clearing of trees to allow the construction of a westbound off-ramp from the M4 at Hill Road. The westbound off-ramp will directly connect Carter Street and Wentworth Point precincts to the M4. The ramp is currently being fast tracked to open at the same time as the completion of Stage One of the WestConnex in 2019.
