AUBURN CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

When are Council meetings held?

From February – November, ordinary Council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, commencing at 6.30pm.

In December, Council usually meets on the second Wednesday of the month and in the follow month of January, Council goes into recess.

Where are Council meetings held?

Auburn City Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Civic Precinct, 1 Susan Street, Auburn.

Who can attend Council meetings?

All members of our community are welcome to attend.  

How can I address a Council meeting?

Members of the public may be permitted, at the discretion of Council, to address a meeting in relation to any matter on the meeting’s agenda.

Requests must be received in writing (including e-mail or fax) by 4pm on the day of the meeting.
 
Addresses will be limited to a maximum of five minutes on a particular item.  

The Agenda

The details of matters on the agenda can be verbally advised on the second Friday preceding the meeting.
 
Printed copies of the Business Paper will be available from the second Monday prior to the meeting.
 
Enquiries about future agenda items (prior to the Business Paper being available) and other matters related to Council meetings and procedures should be referred to the Manager Administration on (02) 9735 1222. 

Business Papers

Business Papers are posted to this website on the second Monday prior to a meeting. Copies will also be available from the Customer Service Centre at 1 Susan Street.
 
Copies will be available for viewing only at the Auburn Library. They will also be available at the meeting.  

Business Paper Subscription Service

Auburn City Council provides a subscription service and will mail out copies of the Business Paper to subscribers. The cost is $30 (inc. GST) per meeting.
 
Alternatively, an electronic subscription service is also available. Please contact Council's Customer Service Centre on (02) 9735 1222 to be included for this service. A link to this website will be provided on the second Monday prior to a meeting for those on the electronic subscription list.

Meeting Minutes

The Minutes of each meeting are posted to this website as soon as they are completed, usually by the Friday following the meeting. They are also included with the business paper for the next meeting.
 
If you would like to be advised of the result of an item immediately after a meeting, you can request details by contacting the Manager Administration on (02) 9735 1222.  

Extraordinary Meetings

From time to time Council will hold an Extraordinary Meeting to deal with specific or urgent matters. Notice of these will be given by notices at the Administration Building and Library and if time permits, in the local press.

Council Committees 

A Council is empowered to establish by resolution any Committees that it considers necessary.

Any requests relating to the Business Papers or Minutes should be made by contacting the Manager Administration on (02) 9735 1222 with the following information where possible:

  • Item No.
  • Subject matter of the item
