Council provides accommodation for Seniors

Seniors within the Auburn LGA in need of a home can now apply to Council to be placed on a waiting list for one of Council’s seniors units.

Council owns and manages 77 Seniors Units for those residents in need of accommodation who live independently. The units are made up of studios for one person and one bedroom units for couples.

“To qualify criteria for this housing you will need to have lived or worked in the Auburn LGA for a minimum of six months ( be able to provide evidence of having done so), be able to live independently and not own property or hold significant assets in either Australia or overseas,” said Yvonne Yun, Community Development Officer - Age and Disability

“Naturally there is a waiting list for these properties, but applications are now being accepted.”

To apply, collect an application form from Auburn Library or Customer Service at Auburn Council or have one posted to you by calling Yvonne Yun on 9735 1378. Before lodging your application, ensure that you have provided all of the supporting documents required. Your application will be placed on Council’s waiting list and you will receive a written acknowledgement.
