PEACOCK GALLERY PROMOTIONS
 
In tandem with promotion for the Mayoral Art and Photography Awards, Auburn City Council is presenting Skills Workshops and a Past Winners Exhibition at the Peacock Gallery, Auburn.
 
The Art and Photography Workshops are conducted by past Mayoral Art and Photography first prize winners.
 
DRAWING WITH CHARCOALS with Michelle Tran

Note: for this activity, please bring along an object of personal significance that you would like to draw.
 
PHOTOJOURNALISM with George Voulgaropoulos
Documenting the local area and personal stories.
Note: for this activity, please bring along prints of up to six of your photos to discuss.

PEACOCK GALLERY PAST WINNERS EXHIBITION
“Past Winners Exhibition” is a collection of works that have won the Auburn Mayoral Art and Photography Prize  over previous years. It will be displayed from 30 June - 5 August 2012 at the Peacock Gallery. 
Winners have included:
·         Gary Trinh and George Voulgaropoulos for photography (who both have their work displayed in galleries on a regular basic)
·         Mazin Ahmed, Michelle Tran, Arezu Robat-Meily who have all won the art prize and have worked on mural/public art projects in Auburn City Council
·         Artists who have gone on to have exhibitions at the Peacock Gallery, including last year’s Newington residency winner Ximena del Campo Tapia whose exhibition has just finished, Francisco Rovero and Carla Wherby.
 
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY:
12-12.30pm, Thursday 21 June
Peacock Gallery, Auburn Botanic Gardens, Corner Chiswick and Chisholm Roads, Auburn.
Local artists and past winners will be attending the Peacock Gallery and the Auburn Mayor will also speak. Get a chance to chat with the artists themselves and Council staff about the event and what’s coming up in Council’s Arts Program.
