Many community organisation face the struggle of finding permanent affordable office space to enable them to carry out their community work. To meet this need, Auburn City Council is currently converting the former bowling club in North Auburn into a Community Centre. A Council employed Centre co-ordinator will oversee the day to day operations of the facility.
In addition to the serviced office spaces, the new facility will provide a range of open and accessible, multipurpose areas including meeting  rooms, a youth space, computer training room, lounge area, child friendly in and outdoor area and a large kitchen. These spaces will be available for hire through Council’s normal hire arrangements for regular and casual users.

Mayor Hicham Zraika welcomes the three community organisations to the community centre: “We want to form partnerships with community organisations and service providers to provide a range of community services and programs at the new centre to benefit the North Auburn community.”

“Co-location of a range of community services and activities will allow better networking and collaboration between agencies and improve access for residents to a wider range of services, programs and activities. The residents in North Auburn have been long deserving of a community facility in this area. ”
