Only 17 kilometres from the Sydney CBD and 6 kilometres from Parramatta, the City of Auburn local government area is right at the heart of Sydney.
The area has many attractions, including the world class sporting facilities and business centre of Sydney Olympic Park, the Auburn Botanic Gardens, Bicentennial Park and the Gallipoli Mosque.

Population
The population of the Auburn area is growing rapidly.
- In 2009, the total population was an estimated 76,519, an increase of 3.7% from 2008
- 9,533 migrants and refugees with permanent residence settled in the Auburn area between 1 January 2005 and 1 January 2010
- 4,018 of these new residents came to Australia under the Family Stream
- 3,352 were skilled migrants
- 2,157 were refugees and humanitarian entrants
By 2020, Auburn’s population is expected to reach nearly 84,000, an increase of 50% from the current figure.
