Auburn City Council provides essential services to our local community. These services and facilities are largely funded by income generated from rates.
Council's general (rates) income has increased by 6.4% being the 6% Special Variation approved by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) plus a 0.4% allowance, as approved by IPART, for the impact of the carbon price introduced by the Federal Government effective 1st July 2012.
2009 base date land valuations have been used for rating purposes.
For a full explanation see Council's Annual Report.
Auburn City Council requires all changes of address for rate notices to be in writing. Download the Change of Address form.
If rates are not paid by the due dates, interest is charged at 10% on a daily basis and legal action may be taken to recover the overdue rates. Legal costs for the recovery action will be added to the rate account.
