Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park

Australia day celebrations of the Auburn area take place at Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park witgh a huge array of entertainment and activity.

The day has components representing Indigenous and Australiana themes, as well as some of the rich and colourful cultures of the Auburn area with a full program of fantastic music, dance and interactive entertainment. .

The festivities include sheep dog trials, sheep shearing and whip cracking performances, kids’ entertainment, an animal farm, pony rides, roving entertainers, a community arts and craft bazaar, indigenous art workshops, amusement rides and a huge Fireworks finale!

There are free shuttle buses running from Auburn Lidcombe and Sydney Olympic Park train stations. Parking will also be available in Sydney Olympic Park parking stations  however parking will be limited so public transport is recommended. Bicentennial Park also has bicycle racks so why not leave the car at home and ride your bike!

The Australia Day Citizenship ceremony takes place on the morning of Australia Day at the Auburn Town Hall.

The Local Citizen of the Year Awards presentation night takes place at a seperate function at the the Council building and then winners are acknowledged at the Official Ceremony on stage at the Australia Day celebrations.

5.00 – 5.25pm Cedars of Lebanon - Middle Eastern cultural music and dance performance
5.30 – 5.55pm Ethiopian Gospel Choir - Vocal harmonies and backing instruments
5.55 – 6.40pm Official Ceremony and Australia Day Ambassador public address – Robyn Moore
6.45 – 7.10pm Sydney Cook Island Dance Group - Polynesian drum and dance performance
7.15pm – 8.00pm Stringybark - Australiana Bush Band
8.10pm – 9.00pm Endless Summer - Aussie rock covers show
9.00pm Fireworks Finale
