Volunteering opportunities at Auburn Council

Council has established a volunteers program to offer local people the opportunity of becoming involved in Council’s initiatives and activities. Volunteering can provide you with valuable work experience, a chance to contribute to community life, meet new people and also allow you to learn new skills.

Auburn Council’s Volunteer Program recognises that volunteers are a valuable part of the organisation, which is why we have created many volunteering opportunities across all sections of Council.

Council’s volunteering opportunities are wide ranging. Volunteer positions cover a range of areas and settings including Council’s libraries and community centres, parks and gardens, environment and waste as well as assistant roles for community events and education programs.

All volunteers are provided with a clear job description stating agreed working hours, the purpose of the position and tasks to be undertaken. Training, sound guidance and direction is given to all volunteers to make it easy and enjoyable to carry out their volunteering work. Please see the following information about some of the volunteering positions available at Auburn Council.
