Garden Waste Collection
| Council provides a 240L garden waste bin only available to single dwelling houses, town houses and villas. These bins are collected every fortnight on the opposite week of the recycling collection.
Garden waste can be placed in the green wheelie bin, with the bright green lid and includes the following items:

- Lawn clippings
- Leaves
- Flowers
- Garden pruning's
- Tree branches less than 1 metre
long and 20cm in diameter. |

*Please note some properties currently have dark green bins with dark green lids, however, these dark green lids will be replaced with new bright green lids in due course.
Tips

It is best to place prunings, dry leaves or twigs at the bottom of your garden waste bin and grass clippings on top. This will prevent the grass clippings from sticking in the bottom of your bin.

If you have more garden waste than can fit in your bin, make sure bundle it properly so it can be easily carried by one person and place it next to the bin.

Noxious weeds such as astma weed, green cestrum, campher laureland privet should not be placed in your garden waste bin.

You can reduce your garden waste by composting or wormfarming, which turns your garden waste into free fertiliser.

No plastic bags are building waste are to be placed into your garden waste bin.
