Household Clean-up Services

Cleaner Streets for a Better Neighbourhood

Auburn City Council wants to improve the area by reducing the amount of rubbish on streets. To help residents dispose of excess household rubbish, Council provides two scheduled clean-ups and two pre-booked clean-ups per household per year as well as a separate white goods collection.

Pre-booked Household Clean-up
Each household within the Auburn Local Government Area is entitled to two free household clean-up collections a year. Bookings are essential and will need to be made two weeks in advance. All you need to do is call Auburn City Council on 9735 1222 or book online by following the link below. Only materials that have been pre-booked for collection can be placed on the footpath. Rubbish that has been put out without a booking is dumped rubbish and can attract a fine of up to $600.

Click here to organise a Pre-booked Household Clean-up Service.

Once you have made a booking by either calling Customer Services on 9735 1222 or by filling in the on-line booking form, you will be sent a confirmation letter with the collection date and conditions of collection. Booking tape to put around materials will also be included to differentiate between rubbish for collection and dumped rubbish.

Scheduled Household Clean-up
Auburn City Council organises two scheduled clean-up collections. All households in the Auburn Local Government Area are serviced with this collection. Residents are notified on the Thursday for a pick-up the following Monday or Tuesday. There is no need to book.

To find out when your street is scheduled for collection click here. If you are unsure of how to find your street, contact Customer service on 9735 1222.

White Goods Collection
Ovens and fridges are collected every second Friday. To book phone Customer service on 9735 1222. When placing fridges out on the footpath for collection, either place the fridge face down or remove the fridge door. This is to avoid suffocation danger to children.

To find out when the next white goods collection click here. All collections need to be registered with Council before 3pm the Thursday before the scheduled date. If your call or online lodgement for a whitegoods collection is after 3pm, your collection will be placed on the following fortnights collection register. Alternatively, contact Customer service on 9735 1222.

Council reserves the right to refuse waste services where conditions of collection are not met. Residents can incur on the spot penalties of up to $600 pursuant to the Local Government Act, 1993, where their goods cause obstruction or are illegally placed in a public area ( footpath or nature strip). Unauthorised dumping is not only  illegal but also dangerous and unsightly. The removal costs to Council of approximately $110,000 a year, uses up valuable rate-payers money which could be spent on parks and other community facilities.
