Age and Disability
Auburn Council provides an extensive range of services and programs designed to support and encourage seniors and people with disabilities to participate in community life.
The Auburn local government area has 14,914 elderly over 65 (26.5%) The number of people over 60 years of age is projected to rise to 24% of NSW’s population by 2021 and is expected to increase to 30% by 2041*.This means there will be a substantial increase in the demand for aged services. Auburn Council will strive to meet this rising demand by continually monitoring the needs of our older citizens and reviewing existing services.
Auburn Council works in close partnership with the Ageing and Disability Department, Home Care and the Department of Health to provide the aged and disabled with access to health services, Meals on Wheels, Respite Programs and other Home and Community Care services.
