Youth Services

Auburn Council aims to provide opportunities for young people that will enhance their life skills and encourage active participation in the community.

The Youth Services Program aims to provide activities, services and resources that meet the needs of all young people residing in the LGA. By developing collaborative working partnerships with non-Government community organisations, Federal and State Government departments and local community development networks, the program assists Council and the community to meet the indentified needs of young people.

The program seeks assistance from the relevant bodies and agencies to develop and implement appropriate support systems to encourage young people to remain in the education system and facilitate further vocational opportunities through work related training and apprenticeships. In addition this program will increase the profile of young people in Auburn LGA, by highlighting the positive contributions they provide to the community, with the co-operation and collaboration of community groups and schools in the area.

School holiday programs
A range of school holiday activities are run every holiday period. All activities have age restrictions and there may be a charge for the selected activity. For more information and to register for any of these activities/workshops call Glenn on 9735 1226.

Auburn Youth Strategy 2009 - 2012

The purpose of the Auburn Youth Strategy is about asking young people and people who work with them, such as youth and community workers, to identify the issues they think are important to address, to make Auburn LGA the kind of place young people aged 12 - 25 would like to live. It's about people working together to meet these needs and to provide programs and activities that young people would like to be involved in.
