Trees

Trees help to filter water, combat salinity, provide clean air and shade from the sun and increase flows into water catchments. They also provide food and shelter to Australia’s unique wildlife and are an integral part of our country’s bio diversity. With the current trend of building larger houses on small lots, resulting in small back yards, it is essential that we understand the important role trees have in an urban environment. Auburn Council has implemented a tree preservation policy to maintain and enhance valuable trees by requiring consent for actions which are likely to adversely affect the health of trees or the landscape in the area.
