Council currently maintains a network of 203 kilometres of sealed local roads and 19 kilometres of regional roads (Rawson Street, Amy Street, Weeroona Road, East Street, Park Road and including sections of Wellington Road, Vaughan Street, Mona Street, Cumberland Road, Cardigan Street, Normanby Road, Alice Street, South Parade, Bernie Avenue, Bachell Avenue, Church Street, Railway Street and Arthur Street), 350 kilometres of concrete kerb and gutter and approximately 135 kilometres of stormwater drainage pipes and 4,000 drainage pits located within the road network.
The RTA provides funding assistance for the maintenance of regional roads. The Commonwealth Government also provides grants to Council for the maintenance of and upgrade of local roads. In addition to the above, the RTA also provides funding to assist Council with the costs of electricity for street lighting.
Auburn LGA has 238 kilometres of roads Including 16 kilometres of state roads which are under control of the RTA. The following roads are state roads and under jurisdiction of the RTA in terms of traffic control and maintenance. These include:
  • M4 Motorway
  • Parramatta Road
  • Joseph Street between Council boundary and Olympic Drive
  • Olympic Drive 
  • Boorea Street between Olympic Drive and Rawson Street
  • Rawson Street between Percy Street and St Hilliers Road
  • St Hilliers Road between Parramatta Road and Rawson Street  
  • Silverwater Road

Roads within Sydney Olympic Park are under control of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority.
