Council meetings
Ordinary Council meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month commencing at 6.30pm with the exception of December and when the Council usually goes into recess. Click on the following links to access the Council meeting dates and the business paper (agenda discussed at Council meetings):
The meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Civic Precinct, 1 Susan Street, Auburn.
Members of the public are welcome to attend all Council meetings and may, at the Council's discretion be permitted to address meetings of the Council in relation to any matter on the meeting's agenda. Requests must be in writing (E-mail or fax is acceptable) and be received by 4pm on the day of the meeting. Addresses will be limited to a maximum of five minutes on a particular item.
From time to time Council will hold Extraordinary Meetings to deal with specific or urgent matters. Notice of these will be given in the local press and by notices at the Administration Building and Library.
Details of matters which are on the agenda for the meetings can be verbally advised on the Friday preceding the meeting and hard copies of the Business Paper are available on the Monday prior to the meeting.
Business Paper are posted to this website usually on the Monday prior to a meeting. Copies are also available for taking away on a first come, first served basis at the Customer Service Centre and for viewing only at the Auburn Library. Copies are also available at the meeting.
Council also provides a subscription service and will mail out copies of the Business Paper to applicants. The cost is $30 (including GST) per meeting.
Enquiries about future agenda items (prior to the Business Paper being available) and other matters related to Council meetings and procedures should be referred to the Manager Administration (tel. 9735 1222).
The Minutes of each Council Meeting are placed on this website as soon as they are completed, usually on the Friday following the meeting. They are also included in hard copy as part of the business paper for the next meeting. Customers who might want the result of an item from a Council meeting immediately after a meeting can request details by contacting the Manager - Administration or in his absence the Director of Business and Finance who will advise on the matter.
Any requests relating to the Business Papers or Minutes of a less urgent nature should be made with the following information where possible.

A Council is also empowered to establish by resolution, such Committees as it considers necessary.
Committees formed under this power are comprised only of Councillors.
