Children's Services
Council’s Children's Services actively promotes the development of a safe and nurturing environment for children. Children’s services identifies possible partners and sources of funding for the provision of high quality children’s services that meet the needs of children between 0 and 12 years and their families who live and work in the LGA.
Auburn Council’s Children’s Services provides:
- Quality child care through operating the Auburn Long Day Care Centre
- Information for families on children’s services in the area
- Assistance to families to access various children’s services
- Networking opportunities and training for the providers of children’s services in the LGA

Auburn Children’s Services Network Meetings
Held every second month, these network meetings bring together Children’s Services staff, school principals and family support staff, to discuss and workshop issues relating to children and families in the Auburn Local Government Area.

Important Children’s Services Dates
Child Protection Week (usually held in September)
Auburn Council is committed to protecting our children. National Child Protection Week raises awareness of child abuse and neglect and its effect on our community. During this week (as well as through the year) Auburn Council Children’s Services provides free child protection training to children and family workers in the LGA was well as the promotion on the need to protect children. Children’s Week (usually held in October)
Auburn Council celebrates our youngest citizens in many ways during National Children’s Week; this includes a big playgroup in the town hall with children’s entertainment and activities. Come and celebrate childhood
